My final project for Advanced Photojournalism class, Fall 2011.

The Hackett family lives in a house that was built in 1926 in Swansea, South Carolina. The wife, Suzanne, volunteers full-time for the Hannah House, a transitional home for women and children who are homeless. The husband, Kevin, is a contractor who primarily works by himself since he cannot afford to hire employees because of the 2008 economic downturn. They are a blended family, with Suzzane’s daughter Casey, and Kevin’s sons Hunter and Chandler. Their aging home is in dire need of major repairs like a new roof, but because of credit issues, they are unable to take out a loan. As of October 2011, they are on the list to be on the ABC show Extreme Makeover Home Edition. Currently, that is their only viable means of fixing their home situation.
