General information card for Campus Recreation. This card is handed out to anyone interested in a membership with Campus Recreation and also prospective and future students at the University of South Carolina.
I wanted this card to first of all, to communicate that Campus Recreation is responsible for everything included in a membership since some people are not aware of all that Campus Recreation offers. The lines are pointing out the ripple-effect recreation can have in one’s life.

Poster advertising the annual Carolina Crush climbing competition, hosted by Outdoor Recreation at Campus Recreation. The competition brings in rock climbers from all over South Carolina and is held on the indoor climbing wall at the Strom Thurmond Wellness & Fitness Center.
I wanted to this poster to convey the motion of rock climbing and give a little taste of what rock climbing is like. It was probably the most fun I’ve had making a poster, since I got to take the photo specifically for this poster.

Logo for the annual Palmetto Classic basketball tournament, hosted by Intramural Sports at Campus Recreation.
This logo is used on all materials pertaining to the tournament including the schedule book, winner’s t-shirts, and thank you cards. I wanted the logo to be instantly recognized and describe the tournament so attendees could tell what was provided by Campus Recreation.

Info card for Outdoor Recreation to advertise the use of their water bottle filling stations in the Strom Thurmond Wellness & Fitness Center. The water bottle stations are meant to encourage use of reusable water bottles to prevent the creation of plastic water bottles.
These cards were placed near the stations and needed to attract attention as well as provide some basic information about why they are important.

Advertisement for the football preview edition of the student newspaper, The Daily Gamecock. For this ad, I wanted to show that Campus Recreation can let people play their favorite sport while they wait for the season to start.

This is the back cover of the student magazine at the University of South Carolina, the Garnet & Black. Campus Recreation gets the back cover ad space every semester.
The goal for the ad is to present Campus Recreation as a whole. For this ad, I wanted to show the variety of services offered by Campus Recreation. I like to think this is a fun way of showing that.

The goal for the ad is to present Campus Recreation as a whole. This was my first ad I made for the Garnet & Black while working at Campus Recreation, so I wanted to be clear about the five different program areas that are offered. I made the pictures into tracings to make them more emblematic of each program area. This version actually did not end up going to print; to be extra sure that we were not “altering the student’s likeness”, I was asked to make the photos into cutouts instead. I like them this way more.

The goal for the ad is to present Campus Recreation as a whole. For this ad, I wanted to show how Campus Recreation provides services that are very natural for the human body to do. I kept the colors as close to the university colors as I could, but added some yellow for contrast.
